IATA/UFTAA/ITAA

The IATA (International Air Transport Association) is an international trade body, created over 60 years ago by a group of airlines.

Today, IATA represents some 250 airlines comprising 94% of the international scheduled air traffic.

The organisation also represents, leads and serves the airline industry in general.

You can do many courses in Ireland that are accredited by the IATA, which if you have done, you will have a very good chance of moving on in the travel industry.

Search for the names of Irish based and distance based course providers who teach IATA accredited courses here.

Or search our general hospitality and tourism course listings here.

The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) also certify some of these courses and sometimes companies request that candidates wishing to work as a travel agent hold an ITAA accredited degree.

For staff of ITAA member travel agents the ITAA run a course called TARGET.
